PETERSBURG, Fla. — In anticipation of Halloween, Environment Florida unveiled Scary Water Facts: 13 Frightening Facts to Blow You out of the Water, showing that, while improving, a terrifying concoction of chemicals, bacteria, and other pollutants still plague the James and Virginia’s waterways.
“Halloween is the season to be scared, but Floridians shouldn’t have to be afraid of swimming, fishing and kayaking in any of Florida’s waterways,” said Jennifer Rubiello, Environment Florida state director. “Major polluters like Buckeye Florida LP still dump toxic chemicals and hazardous waste into Florida’s streams, turning them into a potion of pollution.”
